Which NAS for Transcoding

Hello Guy's,

i'm thinking of buying an NAS for my Media Files, becouse i want to get them out of my Main-PC.

So i want to know which NAS is ok, for using Serviio with Transcoding. (in Terms of CPU-Power).

Doe's this http://www.synology.de/products/spec.php?product_name=DS413j&lang=deu#p_submenu (DS413j) has enough Power? Or do i have to take a Dual Core with 1 GB Ram? (http://www.synology.de/products/spec.php?product_name=DS413&lang=deu#p_submenu)

I hope you can give me some Advice. Maybe some other NAS not from Synology?
I don't want to spend much Money, but it has to work with Transcoding.

Regadrs,
Christian

Re: Which NAS for Transcoding

Arm based cpu device are unlikely to have enough grunt for transcoding. A cheaper option would be a self build nas, mitx board, good cpu etc....install freenas or ubuntu for a good free is.
