Console not launching

Hi!

Install Servio couple of days ago on my ds212. Web console is working but not the ui one.

which UI is not working? (webuiphp, webuiajax, remote console, serviidroid)

are you trying to run ServiioConsole on the NAS? It will not work as it's a headless system. You can run the onsole remotely from a different PC if you like (see the FAQ on how to do this)

Thanks for your reply.
In fact, I follow the install guide here http://pcloadletter.co.uk/2012/01/25/se ... o-package/, and I can see a UI console running on the Syno NAS. that's why I was thinking it was possible... Maybe only on DSM 4.0 beta???

Regarding the headless thing, it is just related to the java version or to the syno? I tryed to find a non headless version of java without success.

You have to use a headless version of java because your box is headless, it has no monitor, so it cannot display a graphical interface directly.

That isn't the normal console in that link, that is a web ui which has been styled (and very well) to look like the normal console.

If you install the normal serviio console on your computer, you can point it to serviio running on your nas as per http://www.serviio.org/component/content/article/21#q2

One last question related to java, I have downloaded the java packages needed and put them in the public folder. Just wondering if I need to unrar them or I have to leave them as tar.gz...

seems to be a stupid question, but really don't know...
