Synology 1813+ - Viewing Media
Hey guys,
Before I start, I have been looking up posts on this forum to see if I can find anything similar to my problem, and there are a lot of things similar, but I can't find the exact reference points people are referring to when they fix the problem.
So, I'm running (as per instructions for Synology setup):
Serviio: 1.4.1.2-0026
Java SE Embedded 6: 1.6.1_38-0031
When I load the Serviio IP address I get Media Browser. When I type my usual password I get:
Please, setup MediaBrowser password in the console first
This is telling me I haven't set up Media Browser in the Synology, right?
Now how do I do that. As far as I've been able to tell I'm supposed to do the setup from a PC, as the sinology component is only the MediaBrowser, is this correct?
On the Windows side, i'm running:
Serviio Pro V 1.5.2
In status, it's showing the IP of the diskstation as an unrecognised device using a generic DLNA profile.
I've also done 'add local' and 'add path' to direct to the diskstation so both paths are listed, and it's not picking it up on my PC MediaBrowser.
Paths are:
Z:\Media
\\DISKSTATION\Media
Remote has a password set, but I'm assuming that's for the local MediaBrowser only.
So, I've tried everything I know how. Sorry if this exact problem has been listed. Any please go in to detail when explaining because I will probably need you to clarify.
I'm thinking it might be a thing where you can only have 1 console connecting to a location. I have files on my PC, and my Synology, and only 1 PC. So if possible would like the one computer to be able to set up the 2 locations.
I'm not that good at the Synology as well, so details would be appreciated if you go in to folder sharing, etc.
Thanks.
