Can see & play videos on TV, but no photos

I hope someone can shed some light on this little problem . . .
I upgraded to a new PC under Win7 back in Feb. this year, after which everything functioned OK: I could routinely view on my remote Panasonic DLNA TV the photos and videos in the folders on my PC specified in my Serviio 0.5.1 console library.
Over the past 3 or 4 months I had no need to display photos & videos on the TV, but when the need arose again, I noticed that Serviio 0.6.01 had been released, so I uninstalled 0.5.1 and clean-installed 0.6.0.1 without any apparent problems.
I can play the specified videos OK, but strangely my photo folders aren't even listed, so I can't display the pics.

Serviio console settings:

Library > Shared folders:
L:\My Documents\Photos\Selected photos . . . . . . . | - | - | Y | - | Y | < < < < < < < < < < and before you ask, yes - this really is where the wanted photos are!
L:\My Documents\Videos\Avi . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . | Y | - | - | - | Y |

Presentation > Visibility:
Audio . . . . . . . . . . Disable
Image . . . . . . . . . . Display category
- Folders . . . . . . . . Display content only
- Online Feeds . . . . . Display content only
Video . . . . . . . . . . . Display category
- Folders . . . . . . . . .Display content only
- Online Feeds . . . . . Display content only
(All other Category names set to Disable)

On the TV I see Serviio listed as a server with 2 subdirectories: "Image" and "Video"
- Selecting "Video" brings up the subdirectory "Avi (folders)". Selecting this brings up 5 subdirectories "2007" - "2011". Selecting any of these brings up the expected list of videos stored there. Selecting any video and pressing OK causes the video to play with perfect video & audio quality.
- Selecting "Image" results in a completely empty list being displayed.

How can I get my photos back onto the TV?

I'm not sure how the TV works, but are you not inside the TV's Videos menu? My Samsung will filter all other content that video when I select Movies on the TV (not a Serviio menu).
Other than that you could install AV Media Controller (Intel tools) to confirm if the image files are there or not.

Re: Can see & play videos on TV, but no photos

No, I'm definitely not inside any TV menu. What I'm describing all emanates from Serviio.
There's no possibility of viewing the entire folders & files tree on the TV as on the PC monitor, but in principle what I used to get and what I now partly get is the same except the tree is interrupted by the need to keep selecting and pressing OK to view various elements of it.
I have the possibility of storing videos and photos locally in a USB HDD attached to the TV, but in fact nothing is attached.
Also the associated BluRay/DVD recorder could contain videos & photos but doesn't - it contains only recorded live TV programmes and is in any case not fired up when I use Serviio. To view anything via the recorder means selecting a specific HDMI feed on the TV, whereas I'm selecting the Ethernet feed (I have the Ethernet cable connected straight into the TV and not via the recorder).

In the past when I used Serviio with 0.5.1 (apart from there being no Online Feeds category), my Serviio settings and my TV display were as described above (but with photos also being displayed).
As now, on the TV I could see Serviio listed as a server.
As now, selecting Serviio and pressing OK brought up a choice of "Image" and "Video" subdirectories.
As now, selecting "Video" brought up the subdirectory "Avi (folders)". Selecting and pressing OK this brought up 5 subdirectories "2007" - "2011". Selecting any of these and pressing OK brought up the expected list of videos stored there.
Similarly, but not happening now, selecting "Image" brought up the subdirectory "Photos (folders)". Selecting this brought up 10 subdirectories "2002" - "2011". Selecting any of these brought up the expected list of photos stored there.
I've always assumed that the extension "(folders)" to the subdirectory names must be a Serviio thing, because in the PC the subdirectories are \Photos\Selected photos and \Videos\Avi

Re: Can see & play videos on TV, but no photos

@ zip: I downloaded the Intel UPnP tools today to access the AV Media Controller you recommended I use to check on my 'invisible' image files, but when I went to install the tools, a message popped up stating that "This setup requires .NET Framework version 3.5 - please install .NET Framework and run this setup again". This surprised me, since my Win7 CP tells me I already have .NET Framework 4.0 Extended and .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile on my machine. What do you recommend I do? Should I perhaps try to locate the AV Media Controller as a separate item and download this?

I use another program that tells me I have to have .NET 4.0 and I don't want to run into troubles on that front. Can .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.0 co-reside?

To answer my own question (often a dangerous thing to do), I found the following reassuring info here http://www.devcurry.com/2010/06/does-installing-net-40-framework.html:

.NET 4.0 framework does not replace or remove the previous .NET frameworks. .NET 4.0 successfully installs side-by-side with previous versions of .NET framework including .NET 3.5, 3.0 or even 2.0.

I confirm that several versions of the framework can coexist (3.5, + 4.0, etc).

Re: Can see & play videos on TV, but no photos

@ zip & Illico: many thanks!

I resolved the missing .NET 3.5 issue - it wasn't missing (is installed as part of the Win7 OS and the files are protected) - it was disabled in Windows Features.
After enabling the .NET 3.5.1 entries, Intel tools installed OK.
I could then run AV Media Controller and this showed that the images I was trying to display were present, so obviously must be being suppressed by my Serviio Presentation settings.
After faffing around a bit, I was able to achieve what I wanted, i.e. both videos and photos on my TV
Since I'd previously chosen the same Presentation settings for both videos and photos, but only the videos were displayed on the TV, everything is a bit confusing to me.
So that I can begin to understand why I was in trouble with the failure of photos being displayed on the TV, in words of one or two syllables could you please try to explain the following . . .
- What do the settings "Display category" ("visible") and "Display content only" ("transparent") mean?
- Also, what does "Include parent's title for items in "Display content only" categories mean?
