Hello,

I added some posts regarding a Sony TV streaming problem with HEVC on "Serviio Support & Help".
Should I move all posts to Sony subfolder?

Thank you.

Hello there!

I'm using Serviio with my KDL-48W600B and the sony2013 profile and it works pretty well, except for some reason i can't fast-forward and rewind or jump forward/behind with HEVC x265 files.

is there a profile-extension for this bug for the sony2013 profile ?

Any updates to the profiles usually have to come from someone with that player. I have no Sony TVs, so have no ability to work on a new profile. But your problem is found on other devices as well. It's not specifically a Sony problem, but unfortunately there's nothing in the Serviio coding that can help either. I can give one example: Roku devices will not FF, rewind, resume, or even pause with media in the TS/M2TS container. The only workaround is to repackage the media into a different format, either manually modifying each file or having Serviio transcode the files. Either way is not a good way to handle it, but the problem lies with the Roku device, not anything Serviio is doing.

The Sony profiles haven't been updated in a very long time, mainly because the Serviio developer doesn't have any of the new sets and no one with one has offered to assist with a new profile. Could a new profile make a difference with your missing playback features? My guess is no, because it sounds like a limitation on the player Sony uses, and anything that Serviio can do would only be a workaround, as I mentioned for the Roku devices.

i could help out. Put me in touch with the devs who wants to give it a shot.

it seems to me that the ff/rw/jump problem could be a buffer problem.
Which could stem from slow hardware or low process priority.

Let's start with the process priority. We need to keep that buffer full and going out.

We can worry about the network devices after.

Anyway I'm willing to give things a shot if the devs want to try it.

You can send a private message to Zip. He's the one and only developer of Serviio. There are no other "employees". I assist him with moderating the forum, and have assisted with profiles for devices I've owned. But I have nothing to do with the actual programming of Serviio.
