Sony TV Playback--Android Upnp remote

I have a question regarding a Sony Bravia HX8 55" TV and a generic DLNA media server remote for Android. Servio works just fine via the onscreen remote through the TV, but I'm trying Android remotes and I can always see the Serviio Library, but when I try to play a video from the server to my TV I end up seeing the album cover instead of the video. Streaming similarly with a client like Vuze or Media player works OK, it is only Serviio that will not play properly. I'm a bit of a novice here so any help is very appreciated.

It's possible that the 'remote' is a UPnP client (controller) itself and needs a Sony profile assigned to it in the console.
