profiles list and other questions

Hi,
I've just bought a Sony Bravia KDL-32EX500 (I suppose it'd fall into the 2011 series)
Looking for a DLNA server, I ran across Serviio and it seems to make quite a good job at serving/transcoding files. Thanks for that !

I have a few noob questions that someone could help me with :

1) First of all, it seems most of the work serviio does heavily relies on a profile tailored for the specific display renderer... Is there a place on the site gathering all (up to date) profiles for a specific tv set ?
2) I've tried using serviio over wifi with a divx, the video was all stuttering. My renderer can play divx natively, as I was able to confirm from a fat32 usb drive... Is it because of a transcoding issue, or is it more likely that the wifi is too slow for streaming in any case ?
3) When playing divx with serviio through rj45 cable, I managed to have the .srt subtitles working, but for some files the option to activate them was not there, even though there was a .srt file with same name as the .avi file... Ideas ?
4) I'm running serviio on a windows7 box, and it seems the shortcuts to start/stop the service don't work effectively. I end up running services.msc and starting/stopping it manually. Any idea on the matter ?
And last but not least :
5) I didn't manage to play any 1080p file yet ! Quite sad for a brand new fullhd set :-/ I get the sound but no video. Any clue on how to fix that ? (Answer might be related to question 1...)

Thanks for any help

Edit: also, I don't really understand why there is a profile for the pc server in the serviio console... Isn't it just the display renderer that needs to get assigned a profile ?
Edit: while I'm posting, it might be of interest to note that I had to edit the firewall to open TCP 8895 and UDP 1900 ports. The installer inserted a few lines about serviio but did not open those, and it wasn't working until I did...

This one is solved, it was UAC kicking in and silently preventing the action.
I tried to make a batch file to handle this case and at least warn the user, but really I miss too many basics in this language to do so.
If I eventually gather enough informaiton to make the command window stick in case the action fails, I'll post it.

Sorry I didn't notice before that a forum section is dedicated to this, but what is in there looks more like another help topic than a profile sharing area :/

All latest profiles are bundled with Serviio. On the forum you can find tweaks that work better/differently for individual users.

Right, but from what I gather the profile need to be specific for a given display renderer (and even depends on the year it was released). For example, with the app comes a "Sony Bravia TV" profile, when all Bravia TV don't behave the same, and 2011 versions don't behave the same as 2010 versions. I assume anyone with the same tv from the same year will be able to use the same profile, so I was thinking about some kind of profile database, where we could grab/push/update the best profile for a specific set.
Anyway, my main concern is on being able to play 1080p mkv files and the other questions...
Any tip would be appreciated.

Well you should ask in the Sony section. For 2011 models, there is discussion going on here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2079

Answers to your other questions (e.g. subtitles) can be here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=425

How come I don't see divx/xvid format in the "supported format" for Sony Bravia 2010 series ? xvid plays fine from an usb drive !

Anyhow, I wish I could test a 1024p movie on my screen. Right now using serviio I get sound but no video. Any clue about that ?

1024p?? what this?
You mean 1920x1080 24p ?
Could you post "ffmpeg -i" result of this video ?

I managed to find another sample, which works fine.
The only difference in ffmpg output is DAR 16:9 instead of DAR 12:5.
I suppose that sample was not real 1080p after all... But that doesn't explain why it doesn't play.

Also, if someone could tell me wheter the server profile has any meaning or not that would be nice. I assume only the profile associated with the display renderer is used, and that the server one is here just because we're in beta stages, but I'd like confirmation. At the moment I change both at once for each test...

I downloaded a sample from your link, and it worked fine.
The file that doesn't show video is still not working, but I had other files working fine, even over wifi... I guess there's something wrong with this specific file.
