hello all
is there any way i can keep mkv movie files transcoded to m2ts but still keep the dts audio and not dd 5.1 i'm using serviio 0.5 have the settings in console to enable transcoding and keep original, but when i play back movies i only get dd 5.1 and would prefer to have the dts audio. is there any way i can do this. bearing in mind i'm a complete novice at this sort of thing could you please keep it simple for me please. if it is possible step by step instructions would be very helpfull. i'm using a sony bdp s570 blu-ray with eu profile.

AVC_TS_HD_DTS_T profile is supported by Sony BDP, this is a MPEG2TS with h264/AVC video and DTS audio

You could remux your mkv/m2ts with Tsmuxer tools to keep only the DTS audio track

do i just copy and paste this into the profile using an xml editor

Edit "profile.xml" file with simple editor (notepad, notepad++,etc) and change the profile section with my proposition.

The reason I set the BDP profile to transcode dts was that FFmpeg cannot remux dts properly at the moment. The resulting file has silent audio when played back, though if you manually remux with TSmuxer it will play fine. I've been meaning to write up the problem in detail with sample working and non-working output files over at doom9.org or the official issue tracker. Just off snowboarding for a long weekend so it will have to wait

Is it possible to add support for alternate encoders like tsmuxer or mencoder into the app? I love the interface and media info download, but I have had better luck with PS3 media server in regards to smooth playback of content.

Sorry, that wasn't meant as an insult. It was just a comparison. I noticed that PMS seams to have more options of encoders and it seams to result in better playback. Maybe something to think about adding in the next revision.

I really do like the way Serviio lays out the content to my PS3 and the stream lined GUI. Thanks for creating a great Media Server.
