Serviio

Hello I am new to Serviio and in advance I just wanna say thatx for the help!!! I just purchased a Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S570 and I am having a problem trying to play video files off my computer. It finds the folders and I can access the pictures in those folders but the video files do not show up. Most of these files are.avi files. I also have a LG BD390 and I am having the same problem on that player. I also have TVersity installed on my computer and the LG finds that and I have no issues accessing video files on the the LG. The Sony is not finding TVersity. What do I do help????!!! Thanks in advance to all!!!

I bought the same BD player and had the same problem and I copied and pasted a USA profile from the above thread. Then selected "Sony BD Player" for the renderer profile and then re-started serviio.

go to your serviio\config folder

on my computer with windows 7 64 bit the path is as follows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Serviio\config

Then open the profiles.xml file in notepad

delete everything in the profiles.xml file

and copy the contents of USA profile from this thread http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1126&p=5340#p5342 and paste in the empty profiles.xml file.

stop and restart the serviio service and make sure that "Sony BD player" profile is selected.

Howww, be carefull, profiles in Serviio are based on inheritance. It means that Profile "B" can inherit from Profile "A" and only change or add certain values. The remaining values will be retained from the parent Profile "A".
For example Sony BDP profile inherit from "Generic DLNA Profile". Do not delete this Generic profile.

I should've said "Delete just the default sony BD profile" and replace it with the USA "sony BD profile" from viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1126&p=5340#p5342

Thaks for the great help everyone. I did as suggested and now Serviio will not start. I get the error.."Cannot connect to Serviio server, it does not seem to be running. Exiting.." What do I do now to get Serviio to start up? I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. Thanks again for everyone's help!!

go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Serviio\config folder

rename your profiles.xml to profile.xml.old

unzip and copy the profiles.xml attached in this e-mail to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Serviio\config folder

re-start the serviio service by doing

right-click --> computer --> manage --> services --> scroll down to serviio --> right click --> click restart

is that going to have any effect on the changes I already made to the config folder that I was told to do earlier in this email??

Nope you will still have your old renamed profile.xml.old to fall back on.

and changes you did are included in the file i posted because I have the same blu-ray player that you have.

This solved my problem. Now I can watch divx movie on my Sony BD player.

Hello again everyone. I have updated Serviio to .05 and now I am back to getting the no playable file error. HELP!!!!

Did you select US profile in the console?

Yes US is checked
