Multiple Icons of Serviio (BDP-S370)

I have a sony BDP-S370 DVD Player, which I am using to share my pictures, music and video files stored on my laptop
via Serviio0.5. Nothing wrong with the service provided by Serviio. However, I have an issue which is kind of frustrating.

As I browse my DVD menu on TV, I see multiple Icons of Serviio under PICTURE, MUSIC and VIDEO. All in all each of this Main Menu item (i.e. Picture, Music and Video) has 4 icons of Serviio under it. 3 Icons are shown as inactive (selecting this doesn't do anything) and 1 active Icon which enables me to watch my pictures & movies and listen music. As a result of this issue the number of Icons under each of the Main Menu item (i.e. Picture, Music and Video) has increased thus frustrating me to navigate through all those Inactive icons.

Please help me in resolving this issue.

I don't have the device but I read here somewhere that you can remove those somehow. Is the PC running Serviio configured with static IP address? It's possible that everytime it gets a new IP address the player stores it as a new Serviio instance.

Re: Multiple Icons of Serviio (BDP-S370)

It sounds like the dynamic IP is your problem, although I haven't experienced the problem myself as I use a static IP for my server. It listed the MAC address along with the server name - I presume it is identical in all your cases?

To get rid of entries you don't need, go into the "Setup" section of the cross media bar and go to the "Network Settings" entry. Go down to "Connection Server Settings", select the server you want to remove, hit the options button and select "Erase". I have done this to get rid of instances of media server I am no longer running.

Re: Multiple Icons of Serviio (BDP-S370)

Thanks guys for your prompt responses, I was able to get rid of those inactive icons. I am glad that I did register in this forum.

Another question I had was with respect to the file format. The DVD player has region code - US. The video file it identifies via Serviio is only MPEG.

Is there a way I could use Serviio to view other file formats such as MP4, MKV, AVi etc....?
