Weird audio issue with Game of Thrones MKV

I have two Samsung Blu Ray Players and the one hooked to my larger TV starts playing a Game of Thrones Season 3 MKV file and it's very strange... the recap of what happened in the last episode works fine both audio and video. As soon as the theme song and opening titles start playing the sound vanishes, the video is fine, but the audio is just gone.

Now on my other player in my bedroom everything is fine... no problems whatsoever.

Also other MKV files work fine on the player giving me problems, just bizarre. So been watching it on my smaller 32 inch TV just because the player will not play the audio.
I've tried turning Transcoding on and off and tried different DLNA profiles but nothing seems to fix it.

Anyone else have this issue with either Game of Thrones Season 3 or other files?

Thanks!
Matt

I had/have this on one of my Samsung BD's as well.....it's due to the HBO shows having PCM 2 channel stereo audio for the recaps and then 5.1 audio for the show.....and the BD does not handle the switch in the audio format.

You can "re-convert" them using handbrake to have the same audio through out if wanted.

Ah this explains it - quite annoying, my Samsung smart TV doesn't have an issue but my aunt's BD-F6500 does.

I've found stopping the file and resuming after the change fixes it, as does using the search bar skip to skip past it.

Anyone know of any permanent fix that doesn't require modifying the files? Would save my aunt a bit of trouble...

Have you tried using the WEB-DL's for the show in question (if available)? They normally do not have the recaps.

Could be an option, but would require waiting longer for their release

Haven't had any feedback in that thread on whether this works, but it should.
