Re: mkv, subtitles and Samsung D - driving me crazy ...

can you post MediaInfo output for the file? Also detailed log when you're trying to play it would be helpful.

BTW, can you play any MKV's or are you having problems with all of them?

Re: mkv, subtitles and Samsung D - driving me crazy ...

Yes, the TV plays each MKV via USB, just not through Serviio.

Below is the MediaInfo & the log is attached. I restarted Serviio before trying to play the file, so there was lots of noise at the beginning that I cut out. Please let me know if I included the relevant parts of the log.

Thank you for your help!!

USB and DLNA is different. Can you test the file via Samsung's PC Share manager?

Re: mkv, subtitles and Samsung D - driving me crazy ...

Just reread your question - and the answer you were probably looking for was no, I can't play any MKV's through serviio. I used to use the windows streaming on my WHS with a WDTV Live box, but when I got the Samsung it wouldn't work at all with Windows streaming - which is why I tried Serviio.

Serviio works great on DiVX AVI's, but doesn't seem to transcode anything.

I will try the Samsung PC Share Manager if I can figure out where it is... :)

Hm ... Zip - not sure about this - but wasn't it that 1080p files are not streamed properly? All MKV's I use are max 720p - everything bigger is also with my unit the same error.

Ok - this is probably the reason - I use PowerLan Adapters @home - so the bandwith is not that high.

Network on my side shouldn't be a problem. Connected over ethernet.

Ok, took a while to get to it but I installed Samsung's Allshare and I can plan the same MKV that does NOT play via Serviio.

Do you want to see a log more detailed than the one attached earlier in this thread? I had that one set on DEBUG. Is there a more detailed setting?

Thanks.

Re: mkv, subtitles and Samsung D - driving me crazy ...

sorry, missed that one. The file is transcoded so it definitely plays it differently than Samsung's server. Are you using built-in profile or did you make any changes? It should not transcode this file. Just for completeness, can you post ffmpeg -i for the file?

Ok, is this the ffmpeg output needed?

I believe I'm using the built-in profile for Samsung C/D. I've attached it here.

Re: mkv, subtitles and Samsung D - driving me crazy ...

Remove this from the samsung c/d profile (not sure how it got there):

  Code:
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video">
  <Matches container="matroska" />
  </Video>

Re: mkv, subtitles and Samsung D - driving me crazy ...

I added that (found in an answer on this forum), but thought I backed it out. Thanks for catching it. It works now!!!
If I'm using the stock profiles file, I'm still confused as to why it didn't work from the beginning.

I don't think you are using the stock profile, this block was not there originally.
